2. What Personal Data Do We Collect?
We collect and process the following types of personal data, depending on your interaction with us:
Contact Form
When you use the contact form on our website, we collect:
- Name
- Email address
- The content of your message
We use this information to respond to your enquiry. The legal basis is GDPR Art. 6(1)(b) (steps taken prior to entering into a contract).
Newsletter
When you sign up for our newsletter, we collect:
- Email address
Your email address is transferred to and stored by Mailchimp (Intuit Inc.), which we use as a data processor for managing and sending newsletters. The legal basis is your consent, cf. GDPR Art. 6(1)(a). You may withdraw your consent at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any newsletter. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal.
Table Reservations
When you click “Book a table”, you are redirected to an external booking platform (SuperB Experience). SuperB Experience is an independent data controller for the personal data you provide in connection with your reservation. We recommend that you read their privacy policy before making a booking.
Accounting Information
In connection with operating the restaurant, we process invoicing and accounting information to the extent necessary to comply with the Danish Bookkeeping Act and tax legislation. The legal basis is GDPR Art. 6(1)(c) (legal obligation).
3. Recipients of Personal Data
We may share your personal data with the following recipients where necessary:
- Mailchimp (Intuit Inc.), as data processor for storing email addresses and sending newsletters.
- IT service providers and hosting providers that operate our website and email systems.
- Accounting and auditing firms that assist with bookkeeping and accounts.
- Public authorities, where required by applicable law (e.g. the Danish Tax Agency).
We enter into data processing agreements with all third parties that process personal data on our behalf, in accordance with GDPR Art. 28.
4. Transfer to Third Countries
Mailchimp (Intuit Inc.) is a US-based company. When you subscribe to our newsletter, your email address is transferred to Mailchimp’s servers in the USA. The transfer is based on the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses and Intuit’s participation in the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, cf. GDPR Chapter V, to ensure an adequate level of protection for your personal data. Apart from the newsletter, we do not transfer personal data to countries outside the EU/EEA.
5. Retention Period
We retain your personal data for as long as necessary for the purposes for which they were collected:
- Contact enquiries are deleted no later than 12 months after the enquiry has been concluded.
- Newsletter data is stored by Mailchimp until you unsubscribe. Upon unsubscription, your email address is removed from the mailing list.
- Accounting records are retained for 5 years from the end of the financial year to which they relate, cf. the Danish Bookkeeping Act § 10.
6. Your Rights
As a data subject, you have the following rights under the GDPR:
- Right of access (Art. 15) — you may request information about the personal data we process about you.
- Right to rectification (Art. 16) — you may have inaccurate data corrected.
- Right to erasure (Art. 17) — you may in certain cases request that we delete your personal data.
- Right to restriction of processing (Art. 18) — you may in certain cases request that we restrict the processing of your data.
- Right to data portability (Art. 20) — you may in certain cases receive your personal data in a machine-readable format.
- Right to object (Art. 21) — you may object to our processing of your personal data.
- Right to withdraw consent — where processing is based on your consent (newsletter), you may withdraw it at any time.

7. Cookies
Our website uses only technically necessary cookies required for the website and contact forms to function correctly. These cookies do not collect personal data and are not used for tracking or marketing purposes. We do not use analytics, statistics, or marketing cookies, do not load external fonts, and do not use third-party scripts that place cookies on your device. As we only use technically necessary cookies, consent is not required, cf. the Danish Cookie Order § 4(2).
8. Links to Third Parties
Our website contains links to third-party websites and services, including SuperB Experience (table reservations) and Instagram. We are not responsible for the content or processing of personal data on these sites and recommend that you read their privacy policies.
9. Security
We have implemented appropriate technical and organisational security measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or deletion.
